Jermaine Bethune
I'm a Cybersecurity Solutions Consultant living in the New York metro area. By day I help entities harden their defenses. In my free time I tinker with AI tools and root for the Miami Hurricanes, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Rays, and the Lightning.
You can reach me by email — I read everything, reply to most. You can also find me on GitHub, LinkedIn, and X.
Projects
Most of what I build starts from the same itch: dry or technical material — standards, archives, data — doesn't have to be a chore to read. The code lives on GitHub.
- udp-rfc-viewer — Browse the RFCs that define the UDP and QUIC transport protocols. Rails 8.1, Tailwind CSS, 24 seeded RFCs.
- rfc-journal — A WSJ-styled RFC archive, built with Astro.
- bgp-archive — A BGP standards archive with a minimalist design.
- currency-by-age — Principal Currencies by Age: an interactive illustrated essay, set four ways in the styles of the Times, the Journal, the New Yorker, and the Economist.
- japan-time-monitor — An experiment in letting Claude Code collect Tokyo weather data on a cron schedule and render it as a WSJ-styled page.
